Neste refines waste, residues, and other renewable raw materials into high-quality renewable fuels at its refineries on three continents. By 2027, the company’s annual renewable fuels production capacity will reach 6.8 million tons.
Neste is now looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data, Analytics & Insights (DAI) team within the Marketing & Services business unit.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data models, primarily in Azure (incl. Snowflake) and Google Cloud.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, internal IT teams, Master Data teams, and external consultants to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions.
- Select and apply appropriate data engineering tools, methods, and technologies in line with architectural guidelines.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and enhance data quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Prioritize and implement technical improvements without separate business approval, following company standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Data Engineering Expertise: Practical experience building and maintaining data pipelines; strong SQL skills; data modeling experience (dimensional, Data Vault 2.0); familiarity with Agile Data Engine.
- Tech Stack: Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, or Snowflake. Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Independence & Initiative: Ability to work with high levels of autonomy, drive complex initiatives, and influence decisions.
- Strategic thinking: Courage to challenge and analyze initiatives to ensure business value.
- Additional experience: ETL processes, scripting (Python), supporting Data Science initiatives.
- BI tools: Experience with Power BI or Qlik is considered an advantage.
